Perfect for those who don’t have a chimney
A Vlaze heatshield and hearth can be placed almost anywhere in your home to provide the protection required to allow you to install a wood-burner and flue where most convenient. They are a perfect choice for modern homes without a conventional chimney, catering to various installation needs, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the warmth of a wood-burning stove.
Hetas regulations – safe distances
A wood-burning stove can reach high temperatures during use, posing a fire risk to nearby flammable materials. The FPA (Fire Protection Association) recommends maintaining a minimum distance of 900mm (equivalent to 36 inches) between a conventional radiant-type stove and any combustible wall. The use of a heat shield can reduce this required distance to 95mm.
When employing a Vlaze heat shield in combination with a Charnwood stove, it’s possible to further reduce this clearance to just 75mm (approximately 2.95 inches). However, it’s imperative to ensure that any heat shield used is designed and installed correctly, and it’s vital to adhere to the specified clearance reductions and manufacturer’s guidelines for safety.
