California Chronicles: Outdoor Kitchen Elegance
This month, the Vlaze team embarked on an incredible journey to sunny California. Our trio—Matthew, Cedric, and Matt—jetted across the pond from England to immerse themselves in the vibrant design scene. They met up with friends and designers, visited a collection of showrooms and documented some stunning completed projects in and around the captivating cities of Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco.
This blog will chronicle this epic Californian adventure and unveil the exciting and rapid growth of Vlaze vitreous enamel outdoor kitchens in the Sunshine State.
Los Angeles

The adventure began with a wonderful evening hosted by the gracious Jeanne & Ray Chung at their remarkable cozy.stylish.chic studio in Pasadena, LA. A gathering graced by many talented designers and architects, all enjoying a very ‘British’ G&T courtesy of Mermaid Gin, set against the stunning backdrop of our Adapt Island. A true celebration of design and camaraderie.
San Diego
PIRCH
Next, our journey led us to two exquisite Pirch showrooms, where the team have done a great job and our vitreous enamel cabinetry looks absolutely gorgeous! The vibrant Ochre unit with Fire Magic grill really catches the eye, featuring convenient castors which allow effortless maneuverability. The cabinet provides ample space for food prep, utensils and ingredients, showcasing the perfect blend of aesthetics and functionality.
One of the highlights of our trip was a filming session at Pirch La Jolla. We delved into all things Vlaze and outdoor kitchens and we can’t wait to see the finished film – stay tuned! Thanks to the whole team, including @erika_at_pirch, @hugo.landa.garcia, and @jennyatpirch, for making this a truly memorable experience.
Laguna Beach
Chef Masters Event
We were thrilled to be part of the Chef Masters Event at Laguna Bay, where our Californian partners PIRCH were sponsors of the @unconditionalrescue charity event. Our Vlaze Adapt Island in Ochre stood out as a symbol of style and innovation, while our culinary partners, @chef_kimberlyayala and Chef David, showcased their talents on the Hestan Home Campania oven. They produced mouth-watering butternut squash and brussels flatbreads topped off with rocket, prosciutto and hot honey. It was a gastronomic journey, marked by delectable dishes and a real sense of community.
San Francisco
Pacific Peninsula Group
In the heart of San Francisco, we explored recent residential projects showcasing Vlaze Adapt Outdoor Kitchens. Notable among them was a stunning poolside project by the brilliant Pacific Peninsula Group. Under a beautiful poolside cabana, their design included a bespoke run of Vlaze Adapt outdoor kitchen units in Quilted Graphite, perfectly harmonising with the main residence’s exterior.
Specified with a 40-inch drop-in grill, faucet and sink and a custom built-in sub-zero wall fridge. Chilling, grilling and washing – it has got it all!
Monica Viarengo
We had the chance to capture an exceptional outdoor kitchen nestled in the heart of San Francisco. Monica Viarengo led the project while we supplied bespoke cabinetry for the compact yet stunning backyard. This bespoke outdoor kitchen features a Big Green Egg and a Gozney Dome, showcasing not only style but also superior functionality. Stylish, clean-lined and designed to blend seamlessly into the space.
